Profile
Phillip is the Operations Manager within Armstrong York and has over 15 years’ experience within the asbestos industry. He has considerable technical experience working with local authority, central government, corporate and large industrial property’s, legal and private sector clients, and a wealth of experience carrying out asbestos removal, audits, surveying, project management, health and safety, risk management and PQQ and tenders.
Phillip has been responsible for all aspects of the business from overseeing the offices around the UK are running smoothly and efficiently including maintenance of the buildings, vehicles and overseeing the office administration through to being responsible for running the quality system (UKAS accredited) including auditing, participation in the RICE and AIMS schemes and ensuring that the surveyors and analysts are working to the required standards.

Tilbury Power Station – Asbestos Project Manager
Project management of all asbestos related works including supervision of asbestos removal projects and air monitoring works and also carrying out Asbestos Surveys to provide an up to date asbestos register for the client.
BBC Studios – Asbestos Consultancy Manager
Responsible for the smooth running of Management Surveys, Refurbishment and Demolition Surveys, Re Inspection of existing surveys, Bulk Sampling, Air Monitoring/Swab sampling, Advice in relation to projects, Supervising and monitoring separately appointed licenced asbestos removal contractors on site, Delivery of asbestos awareness training and duty holder training.

Mr Darby is the Technical Manager for Armstrong York Asbestos Environmental Services, working on a national basis. Mr Darby is an experienced multi-disciplinary environmental/asbestos consultant and consultancy business manager with over 33 years’ relevant site expertise including asbestos removal, audits, surveying, consultancy, management, health and safety and risk assessment.
Mr Darby is responsible for all technical aspects of the business from ensuring our UKAS statutory requirements are met in full from overseeing Company operations, undertaking audit reviews and providing directional advice for both the testing and Inspection services offered by the company.
An ambitious, self-motivated and confident individual who has developed extensive technical knowledge within the asbestos industry as a Consultant, Surveyor, Analyst, Auditor and Manager.
